PBI provides international accompaniment to those who face grave risk due to their legitimate work defending, promoting and protecting human rights in Mexico. The defenders accompanied by PBI are individuals, communities, grassroots movements and NGOs working on a wide range of issues, from public security and human rights; land, territory and environmental rights; women’s rights; and impunity and access to justice.

Currently PBI maintains two teams of international volunteers in the northern and southern regions of the country that accompany HRDs in the states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Guerrero, Oaxaca and Mexico City. See below for more information on the organizations currently accompanied by PBI.
